の続き。

前回は出荷直前に仕様変更のお知らせがあり、出荷予定が見直しになったところまででした。

ロードマップをおさらいしておきましょう。以下の通り。3月出荷は既に絶望的ですが、ここから巻き返せるのか……？

2020年の4月に構想設計をして、2020年の8月にはプロトタイプが完成済み。
満を持して2020年の11月にクラウドファンデングを開始し、2021年の2月には量産して3月には出荷。

2020/3/29 アップデート #14 We’re back, we’re sorry and we’re going to make it up to you!

「戻りました！ほんとごめん！埋め合わせはします！」

巻き返しどころか前回の設計変更から三週間半アップデートが無く、元の発送予定を目前にコメントがプチ炎上している中の更新となりました。
~~前回の更新で分かってたことだけど。~~
以下三点が内容となります。

1. Delays with the answers on social media(SNSでの回答の遅れについて)

First of all, we are terribly sorry for a week of silence - the communication gap some of you might have experienced has been caused by us migrating from our agency’s SMM to our own internal stack. No more delays with the answers, we are guaranteeing that everyone’s messages are going to be replied to in 12 hours or less, depending on the time zone - in most cases it won’t take longer than an hour. Again, sorry for the inconvenience, we do realize communication is the key, and taking into account the delay with production, its value can’t be underestimated.

まず、一週間返信が止まってしまって本当にごめんなさい。コミュニケーションギャップを感じた方もいると思います。これは、SMM(Social Media Marketingの略かな？)を代理店から自社に移行したことが原因です。これからは12時間以内に回答します！(すごい)
コミュニケーションの重要性は認識していますし、製造遅れの状況では特に重要だと考えています。

2. Production status(生産状況)

We are experiencing a delay - it looks like it would take 2 to 3 weeks more to start the shipping process, so that backers would start getting their track numbers. We are working hard as we can to cut the corners where it’s possible without risking the product’s quality - the main issue is the high precision molding, that would have taken much less time if it wouldn’t have been for the mask’s tech requirements (such as optical transparency and hard coating of the visor or air-tight seal of the main modular components). All in all, we are almost there in terms of tooling (most of it is produced on Duch factory in Xiamen) and packaging, logistics and fulfilment are all set to ship the orders with high priority and tracking number options included for everyone (we are using EasyShip and UFL, which allows a seamless integration of all the orders and SKUs our backers ordered as add-ons).

遅延が発生しており、出荷プロセスの開始まで後2~3週間かかりそうです。出来る限りの努力をしていますが、マスクへの技術的要求が高く(バイザー部分の透過性やコーティング、部品の気密性など)、高精度成形が必要なため時間がかかっています。(以下略)

3. Every backer is getting 2 months worth of filters as an excuse gift(2ヶ月分のフィルターをおまけで付けます)

We are terribly sorry for the delay - this isn’t our first business as hardware creators, nor is it the first servicing business, but that’s our first attempt at Kickstarter -- and we are hoping to resolve all the issues with the production as fast as we possibly can. Working 24/7 in 3 different time zones to get there.
To try and make it up to every backer out there waiting for Blanc masks to arrive, we are going to add 10 exhalation filters to each mask ordered: for example, if the backer ordered 3 masks, they’re getting 30 more exhalation filters. This is nothing compared to the inconvenience and dissatisfaction we caused, but we are eager to get the product to the market, and the community is the main product advocate and camertone; without you, we’re nothing. So please let us make it up to you. This is the first of 2 excuse gifts we are announcing, the second one will come in a week - we are also going to make a photo-proof of the tooling and production facility as many of you suggested, along with some Q&A on what’s next.

遅延に関しては本当に申し訳ないです。24時間週7日三交代で働いているので勘弁してください！
到着を待っている方々への埋め合わせのために、2ヶ月分のフィルターをおまけで付けます。もう一つ考えており、こちらは一週間後にお知らせする予定です。
また多くの方からご提案いただいたように、工具や生産施設の写真を紹介すると共に、次のステップについてのQ&Aを実施予定です。

前回「2/11に「生産は順調で、3月下旬に出荷開始予定」って言ってたんだけどな……何を生産してたんだ……？」と書きましたが、同じような印象を持った人たちのコメントでコメント欄がプチ炎上していました。
そのため、一度状況の整理とおまけの発表で事態の鎮静化を図ったようです。

出荷プロセス(が何を指すのかいまいち不明瞭ですが)の開始まで2~3週間とありますが、もう少しかかると思います。

おまけのお知らせがありましたが、遅延するだけでも人件費が増えるので更に無理をするとプロジェクトごと倒れるリスクが高まるため、素直に喜べるお知らせではないです。

2020/4/14 アップデート #15 Production update: the golden prototypes, tooling and packaging updates; Blanc marketplace early backer discounts

「基準となるプロトタイプのお披露目と、製造発送状況の連絡。将来的にBlancを一般販売する際の支援者割引のお知らせ。」

First of all, here are some pictures and videos of our "Golden" prototype. This is made in exactly the same way as the mass-produced Blanc mask and is the standard for all production facilities we interact with in China and Hong Kong. Basically, this is a reference for what the actual mask and its components should look like, so that the factory can deliver the product as we intended.
We started up the molds for all the major components about two weeks ago and still have about two weeks left. In the meantime, we had our main subcontractor take a small video of our production status. Basically, there is nothing left to do but wait for the robot's high-powered metal laser to complete a solid mold of the front panel and frame, ready to proceed with assembly.

最初に、プロトタイプの映像をお見せします！これをベースに量産を進めていきます。
2週間前に金型を立ち上げ、製造の本格着手まで後二週間ほどかかりますが、後は実質フロントパネルとフレームが完成し、組み立てに入るのを待つだけです。

プロトタイプの映像見るとテンションが上がりますね！！！
着けて歩いたら完全に不審者になるこのフォルム、期待が高まります！！！

We use EasyShip, the shipping platform of choice for more than half of the successful projects on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, and we use UFL as our fulfillment operator.

訳す必要は無いかと思いますが、生産拠点や配送業者も紹介されていました。

また、模倣品の問題も少しあったみたいです。
